The cart before the horse...
The cart before the horse...
by Michael Whelan
One of the common mistakes for entrepreneurs is not organizing early. You have this million dollar idea, and you start thinking websites, marketing and getting to work. Before you get into all of the fun stuff and fleshing our your vision, you should put first things first.
Hiring an attorney is an essential task when developing your business. An attorney can help you navigate all of the pratfalls that young startups face. How should you organize? How is the ownership of your venture structured? How will you be taxed? Should you create an LLC or a corporation? Once questions like these are answered, you will have a foundation to build your company on that can’t be shaken. Oftentimes, if you put the proverbial cart before the horse, you get nowhere fast or even worse you may have to close your doors before they you truly get them open.
